Network Upgrade and Exchange Implementation
The corporate offices of Chelo’s Corporation, located in Cumberland, RI, consisted of approximately 10 old Pentium 4 computers running Windows XP Professional, including an Apple Mac™ Pro, and two networked multi-function office copiers. Internet was provided by a dedicated high-speed Cox Communications based Internet connection.
This Windows TM network was aging, with a server running an end-of-life-cycle Windows TM 2000 server operating system on an out of warranty Dell™ PowerEdge server.
Backups were failing, Antivirus was outdated, and daily receipts were being received on a conventional fax machine. Even Internet security was lacking with the use of a consumer grade Linksys® router to protect the corporate network.
The 8 restaurant locations, each with a dedicated high-speed Internet connection from Cox, were not even connected to corporate and email was outsourced with a third party provider.
In summary the corporate network was in need of a major overhaul.
